We gained a new artist, Roslyn Girdham @gentlehorsecreations, and a new neighbor, Porron Cellars @porroncellars. Our artists were juried into premier events: Gorge Artists Open Studios @gorgeartist, Art in the Pearl @artinthepearl, Hood River Harvest Festival @hoodriverharvestfest, Columbia Center for the Arts Best of the Gorge @columbiaarts, and the Oregon Potters Association showcase @oregonpotters. Plus OPB’s Oregon Art Beat episode about Nancy Houfek Brown’s artwork won the NW Emmy Award for Arts & Entertainment @opbartbeat! To top it off, we surpassed last year’s financial success!! FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Erin Keefe @plushwovens. Erin’s love for weaving began in her childhood watching her mom, aunt, and grandma work with woolen yarn. When she took up weaving on a rigid heddle loom, she began to create the beautiful scarves, table linens, and other woven items that are now on exhibit at Art On Oak.
